Court Orders Astrologer to Remove Defamatory Videos
Imagine two astrologers who make videos.
One makes videos debunking claims from other astrologers.
The other is a famous astrologer.
The first astrologer made videos about the second, saying bad things like accusing her of black magic.
The second astrologer sued the first.
The court agreed that the videos were harmful and ordered the first astrologer to take them down.
The court also stopped the first astrologer from making more videos like that until they can have another hearing in January.
Delhi High Court ordered astrologer Umang Taneja to remove defamatory videos about Trishla Chaturvedi.
Chaturvedi, known as "Trishla Maa", claimed Taneja's videos damaged her reputation.
The court found the videos to be derogatory, accusing Chaturvedi of black magic and drug use.
Taneja is restrained from further defamatory posts until the next hearing in January.
Chaturvedi, a Vedic astrologer, has a YouTube channel with over 1.29 million subscribers.
