No Proposal for N choe Restoration in Three Years
A member of parliament named Manish Tewari asked the government about the pollution in a seasonal stream called N choe in Chandigarh.
He wanted to know if sewage was still flowing into the stream and if any plans were being made to clean it up.
The government replied that in the last three years, no specific plans have been made to restore or rejuvenate the stream.
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) have given directions to fix the problems, like repairing broken pipes and preventing waste from being dumped into the stream.
The Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC) has also asked the city authorities to take steps to stop waste disposal in the stream.
The government said that the city needs to keep monitoring the stream to make sure no sewage flows into it.
No proposal for rejuvenation or restoration of N choe in the last three years.
Manish Tewari raised concerns about unchecked pollution and sewage overflow in N choe.
NGT directed regular monitoring and prevention of sewage flow into N choe.
