India's Ambitious Plan for Gaming Industry Growth
India has a lot of gamers and software developers, but it doesn't make as many games as you might think.
The Game Developers Association of India (GDAI) wants to change that.
They have a plan to make India a big player in the gaming world by 2035.
They want to teach more people how to make games, give money to game studios, and make it easier for foreign experts to work in India.
They also want to build special places for game development and show off Indian games at big events.
If everything goes well, India could make a lot of money from games and create many jobs.
India aims to achieve $10 billion in annual gaming exports and $100 billion in overall value by 2035.
GDAI plans to introduce game development courses in top universities to train 15,000 programmers annually.
Proposed financial support includes equity-free grants, tax holidays, and GST exemptions for game developers.
India expects to create 500,000 direct jobs and 1.5 million indirect jobs in the gaming industry by 2035.
The plan includes building gaming hubs in major cities and increasing India's presence at global gaming events.
