8,500 Structures Razed at Chandola Lake in Second Phase
Imagine a lake where some people built houses and shops without permission.
The government is removing these buildings to make the area better.
In the first phase, they targeted structures and people living there illegally.
Now, they are removing the rest of the unauthorized buildings.
Many workers and machines are involved, and police are there to keep everyone safe.
The goal is to clean up the lake area, and the government plans to build a wall, deepen the lake, and make the area more attractive.
People who lived there before a certain date may get a new place to live.
The second phase of demolitions at Chandola Lake in Ahmedabad began Tuesday.
8,500 unauthorized structures were cleared, freeing 2.50 lakh sq m of area.
The AMC deployed 50 teams, 35 bulldozers, and 15 earthmovers.
The lake area falls under the state irrigation department's authority.
Over 3,000 police and SRP personnel were deployed to maintain order.
