DoT Prevents ₹660 Crore in Cyber Fraud
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in India has stopped cyber frauds worth ₹660 crore in just six months using a tool called the Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI).
The FRI was launched on May 22, 2025, and helps banks and other financial companies spot and stop suspicious transactions.
Over 1,000 banks and payment companies are using this tool.
The DoT also teaches these companies how to use the FRI effectively.
Fraudsters are getting smarter, so the DoT encourages citizens to report suspicious activities using a platform called Sanchar Saathi.
This helps block fraudulent calls and protect others.
The DoT says that teamwork between banks, payment companies, and citizens is crucial to keeping India's digital money safe.
India's Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) has prevented cyber fraud losses worth ₹660 crore in six months.
