Jammu University Launches Multidisciplinary Programs and Semiconductor Skilling Initiative
The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, opened a new program that teaches students how to make semiconductors, the tiny parts that power phones and rockets.
He also started a diploma about Sanatan Dharma, a part of India’s cultural heritage.
The university added courses that mix subjects like physics, chemistry, and geography so students can learn many things at once.
He said this will help students solve big problems, like climate change, by using knowledge from many fields.
The goal is to make students smart, curious, and ready for the future.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched a Semiconductor Skilling Programme with IIT Madras at Cluster University Jammu.
A new PG Diploma in Sanatan Dharma and Indian Knowledge Systems was introduced, along with a Department of Vedic Studies.
The university launched integrated courses in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, and Geography under a “Design Your Degree” model.
The initiative aims to produce multi‑disciplinary thinkers capable of tackling complex problems such as climate change.
The launch emphasized balancing scientific education with India’s cultural and intellectual heritage.
