You can join if you are an Indian citizen between 18 and 40 years old and have an Aadhaar card and a bank account.
You choose how much pension you want, from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 per month, and contribute accordingly.
The government also adds some money to your contributions.
When you turn 60, you get a guaranteed monthly pension.
If you close the account before 60, you only get your contributions plus interest, losing the government's extra money.
