Editorial Urges Government, Opposition to Let Parliament Function Amid Logjam

In India, the government and the opposition are not getting along in Parliament, the place where leaders make new laws.

During a meeting period called the Monsoon Session, the two sides could not agree, so some laws were passed without much discussion.

The opposition wants the government to answer questions about a protest in Delhi.

Students protested at a place called Jantar Mantar because they were unhappy about problems with big exams like NEET, CBSE and CUET.

The opposition says police hurt the students who were protesting peacefully.

The government says some troublemakers joined the protest and did bad things.

The two sides also disagree about items that went missing at a famous temple in Ayodhya.

The leaders tried to talk about these problems but could not find a solution.

The newspaper says both sides should work together so Parliament can do its job of making and discussing laws.
