Kalyan Man Allegedly Loses ₹6.97 Lakh in Investment Scam
A man from Kalyan saw an Instagram video promising very large returns from investing.
He followed a link and was added to a WhatsApp group.
People in the group gave him investment advice and showed what appeared to be profits.
They also told him that a ₹5 lakh loan had been approved.
He sent them a total of ₹6.97 lakh for investments and charges.
When he tried to get his money back, they asked him to pay even more.
He became suspicious and spoke with a friend.
He then reported the matter to the police, who are investigating.

The scheme began with an Instagram reel claiming investors could earn returns of up to 800% daily through an HDFC Securities platform.
The victim was later added to a WhatsApp group where people allegedly shared investment tips and displayed purported profits.
After he was told a ₹5 lakh loan had been sanctioned, he transferred money for the loan and alleged processing charges.
Police registered a case and are tracing the phone numbers, bank accounts and transactions linked to the complaint.
