Delhi Government Mandates Anti-Smog Guns on High-Rise Buildings to Combat Air Pollution
Imagine the air in Delhi gets very dusty and dirty, making it hard to breathe.
To help clean the air, a special group called the NDMC is using big sprayers called anti-smog guns.
They have put 14 of these guns on tall buildings in a specific part of the city called Lutyens' Delhi.
These guns spray tiny water droplets, like a gentle mist, that help catch the dust and pollution.
Some guns are on buildings owned by the NDMC, while others were put on buildings like hotels and offices by their owners.
This happened because the government made a rule saying that large buildings must have these guns to help clean the air.
The government also said that the owners of these buildings have to pay for the guns themselves, but homes and apartment buildings don't have to.
These sprayers work hard, especially when the pollution is bad, to make the air cleaner for everyone.
The NDMC is even getting more of these guns to help even more.
New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has deployed 14 anti-smog guns on high-rise buildings in Lutyens' Delhi to combat air pollution.
Private building owners have installed 10 anti-smog guns at their own expense, following a Delhi government mandate.
The Delhi government requires high-rise buildings with over 3,000 sqm built-up area to install anti-smog guns, excluding residential buildings.
NDMC is procuring seven additional anti-smog guns for installation on its own buildings.
These anti-smog guns spray fine mist particles to reduce dust and particulate matter in the air, operating during peak pollution hours.
