Delhi Poll Officials Publish Names Excluded From Draft Roll
Delhi officials made a temporary voter list and found that many names were missing or had small errors.
The list published on August 31 left out 47 lakh names from about 1.45 crore voters.
Officials have now published details about the missing names and some birth-date or name differences.
They are sending notices to the people involved.
Some people were not matched to earlier records, while others had small mistakes in their information.
These people can show documents to support their claims.
Officials are holding special camps to hear these cases.
They may open more camps if many people need help.
The Delhi Election Commission published online names and dates of birth linked to discrepancies in the draft electoral roll.
The draft roll, released on August 31, excluded 47 lakh of Delhi’s 1.45 crore voters.
Notices are being sent to unmapped voters and mapped voters with discrepancies in names or dates of birth.
Affected residents are being asked to present documents during the claims and objections process.
Electoral roll officers are holding hearing camps, with more camps possible if needed.
