Film Body Urges Cabinet Focus on Industry Development
A group called the Movie Artists Association–Andhra Pradesh (MA–AP) had a meeting in Guntur.
Their leader, Dileep Raja, asked the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, to talk about helping the film industry in the next Cabinet meeting.
He said the government hasn't done much for the film industry since they started.
He also mentioned that the Nandi Awards, which are important prizes for films, haven't been given in a while.
He wants the government to make a plan to help the film industry grow, just like they've helped other areas like pensions and teachers.
He thinks this can create jobs and help the state's economy.
Dileep Raja, founder of MA–AP, urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to prioritize film industry development in the Cabinet agenda.
He alleged neglect of the film industry by the current government since June 24, 2024.
Raja sought a clear policy framework for the growth of the film industry in the Cabinet meeting scheduled for February 3.
He highlighted the delay in reviving the prestigious Nandi Awards and questioned the cinematography minister over the silence on the issue.
Raja noted that the government had acted swiftly on other welfare initiatives and urged similar priority for the film industry.
