Ather Energy Launches Pothole Alert Feature on Gen 2 Scooters
Ather Energy, a maker of electric scooters, added a new safety feature called Pothole+ Alerts.
The feature tells riders when they are about to hit a pothole, broken road, or speed breaker while they are riding.
It shows a warning on the scooter’s screen and can also play a sound through the scooter, a special helmet, or a Bluetooth headset.
The alerts are made possible by data collected from many Ather scooters that are connected to the internet.
The company said it took almost nine years to develop this feature.
Ather Energy introduces Pothole+ Alerts for Gen 2 and higher scooters.
Feature warns riders of potholes, broken patches, uneven roads, and speed breakers via navigation.
Alerts appear on the dashboard and can be heard through the scooter, Halo helmet, or Bluetooth headset.
The system uses road intelligence built from data collected by Ather’s connected scooter fleet.
Co‑founder Tarun Mehta said the feature took nearly nine years to develop.
