Himachal Minister Stresses Press Transparency; Gandhi's Radio Legacy
On National Press Day, a minister in Himachal Pradesh talked about how important it is for news reporters to tell the truth.
They said that reporters should check facts, tell both sides of a story, and not just be fast.
This day also remembers when Mahatma Gandhi used the radio to talk to lots of people at once.
He wanted reporters to tell the truth and help people understand things better.
Today, even though we have many ways to share news quickly, it's still important to follow Gandhi's rules to stop fake news.
Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani emphasized the vital role of press transparency in a vibrant democracy.
Speakers at a National Press Day event discussed challenges posed by misinformation and new technologies to media credibility.
They highlighted the importance of fact-based reporting, investigative journalism, and presenting both sides of a story to maintain public trust.
The event also marked Mahatma Gandhi's historic radio address in 1947, reminding of his vision for truth-based communication.
