Learners Lead Clean-Up Drive in Bengaluru
A group of students and teachers in Bengaluru worked together to clean up their neighborhood as part of a program called Kartavyam.
This program teaches young people about taking care of their community and the environment.
They learned about important issues and how to make a difference in their area.
A special guest, Malini Parmar, talked to them about recycling and how to live in a way that helps the planet.
The clean-up was a big success, and everyone felt proud to make their neighborhood a better place.
The organizers hope that this will inspire more people to take care of their surroundings.
Beyond 8 and The Ugly Indian hosted the finale of Kartavyam 2025–26, a learner-led initiative focused on civic and environmental action.
Around 20 learners and facilitators participated in a clean-up drive at Kamaraj Road, Sivanchetti Gardens, Bengaluru.
The program included preparatory sessions on civic and environmental issues, with a special session by Malini Parmar on waste segregation and sustainable living.
The clean-up drive aimed to cultivate a sense of civic responsibility and community ownership among the participants.
Organizers emphasized the importance of citizens taking ownership of public spaces to drive sustainable civic action.
