TN Government to Launch AVGC-XR Centre of Excellence in Chennai
The government of Tamil Nadu is creating a special place in Chennai called the Viyan Centre of Excellence.
This center will help people who make video games, cartoons, special effects for movies, and virtual reality experiences.
It's like a super-hub for creating digital media!
In the beginning, it will be in a rented space with special rooms for working, labs for making art and virtual worlds, and places to test new technology.
Later, it will move to a much bigger building.
The government also wants to open smaller versions of this center in other cities in Tamil Nadu.
This will help more people learn new skills and create cool digital things, making Tamil Nadu a top place for this kind of technology in India.
The Tamil Nadu government will establish the Viyan AVGC-XR Centre of Excellence in Chennai to foster digital media innovation.
The center aims to make Tamil Nadu a national leader in animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality (AVGC-XR).
Phase 1 involves a leased facility with specialized labs and co-working spaces for startups and MSMEs.
Future phases include a large, purpose-built campus and regional centers in other major cities across the state.
