Darekar Seeks Joint Effort to Revive Maharashtra Cooperative Union

Pravin Darekar wants Maharashtra’s cooperative union to become a stronger place for learning and training.

He said the union had struggled because it did not have enough skilled trainers.

Delayed salaries also affected its work.

An expert group will help improve the training programmes.

Trainers may receive special courses and payments for their work.

Thirteen training centres received financial support from the Mumbai District Central Cooperative Bank.

The union also plans online training, new staff and large building projects.

Darekar said everyone must work together to make the union strong within one or two years.
