Eight Sikkim Mansarovar Pilgrims Safe After Tibet Flash Floods

Eight people from Sikkim were traveling to Mansarovar in Tibet.

They crossed from Nepal into China on August 25.

A sudden flash flood affected the area on August 26.

The flood made it difficult for them to continue moving.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang called all eight people on August 27.

They told officials that they were safe in Saga County.

Sikkim created a special task force to help monitor the situation.

The state also opened a 24-hour helpline for families seeking information.
