TN Speaker Hopes Governor Ravi Honors Assembly Traditions
The Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, M Appavu, announced that the first session of the new year will start on January 20.
He hopes that Governor RN Ravi will follow the traditional practices of the Assembly, such as singing the state anthem 'Thamizh Thai Vazhthu' at the beginning and the national anthem at the end.
Earlier this year, the Governor walked out of the Assembly without reading the customary address because the national anthem was not sung at the start.
The Assembly then passed a resolution not to take the Governor's remarks on record.
With elections expected in April, the government might present supplementary estimates instead of a full budget.
