Telangana Ranks Second in IT, Real Estate Job Creation: NITI Aayog Report
Imagine India's job market is like a race.
Telangana is running really fast in creating jobs, especially in technology (IT) and building homes (real estate).
It came in second place across the whole country for these types of jobs!
The report also found Telangana is doing well in other areas like banks, shops, and restaurants.
Telangana's economy is growing a lot because of its focus on digital technology and businesses in its main city, Hyderabad.
This growth is helping create more jobs and showing that the services part of their economy is getting bigger and more important.
Telangana ranks second nationally in job creation within the IT & Communication and real estate sectors, according to the NITI Aayog Report 2023-24.
The state accounted for 12% of IT jobs and 13% of real estate jobs nationwide, with Karnataka leading both categories.
Telangana is among the top 10 states in financial services (ranked ninth) and real estate (ranked sixth).

Focus on Services for Economic Growth
The NITI Aayog report emphasizes that the services sector is the primary driver of employment growth and post-pandemic recovery. It suggests a policy approach that treats services as a central pillar of the employment strategy, not a residual one.
Sectoral Strengths and Challenges
Focus on Manufacturing for Job Creation
Manufacturing faces challenges such as automation reducing labor requirements, capital-intensive expansion, and global trade uncertainties, which can impact large-scale job creation.
Focus on Services for Economic Growth
The services sector, particularly modern segments like IT and finance, offers higher productivity and wage potential. However, job creation is uneven, and job quality often lags behind output growth. Traditional services employ most workers, while high-value services absorb fewer.
