Maharashtra Accepts Tribal Students’ Key Demands, Urges Classes Resume

Tribal students in Maharashtra have been protesting about conditions in their schools and hostels, scholarships, and other concerns.

The state’s Tribal Development Minister, Ashok Uike, said the government has accepted their main demands, including a plan for a central kitchen.

He asked students to go back to college and attend classes.

He also said students would not lose government support.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the government had taken action to address the problems.

He also accused some people of using the protests for political reasons.

Congress MP Varsha Gaikwad criticized how police handled the students.

She said students who came to Mumbai were detained at a Congress office.

The articles do not give the students’ response to the government’s announcement.
