Darjeeling Hills University to Launch Astro Club with Calcutta Institute
Darjeeling Hills University is teaming up with a Calcutta-based institute to start a club for students interested in space.
This club will help students learn and do research about space science.
The Calcutta institute will give the university special tools, like a device to measure earthquakes and a telescope.
The new club will begin in September.
It's hoped this will help the university, which is still new, become a place where people study space.
The university has faced challenges in the past, but this partnership is seen as a positive step.
Darjeeling Hills University (DHU) is launching an Astro Club with assistance from the Institute of Astronomy, Space, and Earth Science (IASES).
The initiative aims to encourage students to study and research space science.
IASES will provide DHU with an earthquake measurement device and a telescope for astrophysics research.
The Astro Club is scheduled to launch in September with a new student batch.
The partnership is viewed as a potential turning point for DHU, which has faced operational challenges since its 2022 inception.
