Telangana Recommends Ballot Papers for Municipal Polls
The Telangana government has asked the election commission to use ballot papers instead of electronic voting machines for the upcoming municipal elections.
These elections will be held in early February and will cover 117 municipalities and six municipal corporations.
The government made this decision because some political parties have raised concerns about the reliability of EVMs.
Officials are now preparing by ordering ballot boxes and paper supplies to ensure everything is ready on time.
This is similar to the 2020 elections, which also used ballot papers due to health concerns related to COVID-19.
