Taj Hotel Agreement Aims to Boost Sindhudurg Tourism

A company called IHCL plans to build a Taj hotel in Shiroda–Velaghar, Sindhudurg.

IHCL signed an agreement with the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation and a local landholders’ society.

The agreement was signed in Mumbai on August 18, 2026.

Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended the ceremony.

The hotel is expected to attract more visitors to Sindhudurg.

It may create jobs for local people.

Farmers, artisans, guides, transport operators and other businesses may also get more work.

Officials hope the project will help Sindhudurg become a more important tourism destination.
