MPC statement: not all gloom and doom, but worries remain

MPC statement: not all gloom and doom, but worries remain

The Reserve Bank of India is the big bank that watches over money in India.

Its leader, Governor Sanjay Malhotra, explained how India's money and economy are doing.

He said the Indian economy is still strong and will probably grow by 6.7 percent in the next year.

He also said prices of most things are not rising too fast.

But he warned that some things could go wrong, like not enough rain for farms.

Weather problems and conflicts in West Asia could also cause trouble.

If food and fuel prices rise a lot, other things could become costly too.

The government is saving water and planting stronger crops to help farmers.

So the message is not all bad news; there is also hope.
