Emirates Tightens Power Bank Rules to Boost Flight Safety
Starting October 1, 2025, Emirates flights will have new rules about power banks.
Passengers can still bring small power banks (under 100Wh) in their carry-on bags, but they cannot use them during the flight.
Charging devices using power banks or the plane's outlets is also not allowed.
This is to make flights safer because power banks can cause fires if they get damaged.
The airline wants to reduce any potential problems with these batteries.
Emirates is banning power bank use on flights, effective October 1, 2025.
Passengers may carry power banks under 100 watt-hours in hand luggage.
Power banks must remain switched off throughout the journey.
Charging devices via power banks or plane outlets is prohibited.
The airline cited a safety review due to rising lithium battery incidents.
