Manjrekar Prefers ODI as True World Cup
Sanjay Manjrekar, a former Indian cricketer, said that the 50-over ODI World Cup is the real World Cup.
He thinks the T20 World Cup, which happens every two years, should not be given the same importance as the ODI World Cup, which happens every four years.
He prefers to call the T20 event 'The WorldT20' to distinguish it from the traditional World Cup.
This comes at a time when some people are worried about the future of ODI cricket, as it is often overshadowed by Tests and T20s.
Even another former Indian player, R Ashwin, has expressed concern about the fate of ODI cricket after the 2027 World Cup, which might be the last for some veteran players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
