Tata Trusts Vice-Chairman Alleges Pre-Planned Ouster
Vijay Singh, the Vice-Chairman of Tata Trusts, says he was removed from the Tata Sons board because a group of trustees planned it.
He thinks they wanted more control over Tata Sons.
Singh was first appointed by Ratan Tata in 2013 and again in 2022.
Ratan Tata even changed the rules so Singh could stay longer.
But after Ratan Tata passed away, some trustees, like Mehli Mistry, decided to remove Singh.
Singh says the reason given for his removal, which was to oppose the listing of Tata Sons, is not true.
He says the board had already discussed and decided on the listing issue.

Singh was appointed by Ratan Tata in 2013 and reappointed in 2022, with Ratan Tata amending the Articles to remove the age cap for his service.
The conflict within the board has eased, with Chairman Noel Tata strengthening his position and trustee Mehli Mistry not being renewed.
