India Hoists Tricolour in Galle Ahead of Sri Lanka Test

Every year on August 15, India celebrates its Independence Day.

This year is the 80th time the country celebrates it.

The Indian cricket team was far away from home in Sri Lanka on this special day.

The players gathered at a big cricket ground called Galle International Stadium.

Together with their coaches and support staff, they raised the Indian flag, which is called the Tricolour.

This made the players feel proud even though they were not in India.

After the flag ceremony, they got ready to play a big cricket match.

The first Test match against Sri Lanka began on August 15.

Winning this series could help India move up in the World Test Championship, a competition between the best cricket teams in the world.
