Warangal Collector Calls for Every Village to Become TB-Free
Warangal Collector Dr Satya Sarada wants every village to help stop tuberculosis, or TB.
She asked young people and NCC cadets to raise awareness and help with screening.
TB is a contagious illness that can spread through the air.
People with a cough lasting more than two weeks or other listed symptoms should get checked at a government health centre.
Health workers may use sputum tests, chest X-rays or other tests when needed.
The government provides TB treatment for free.
Patients should take their medicine regularly and finish the course their doctors prescribe.
The Collector said this helps prevent drug-resistant TB.
She also asked departments and village representatives to work together.
Warangal District Collector Dr Satya Sarada urged youth and NCC cadets to help make every village TB-free.
She flagged off the TB Mukt Bharat–Ayushman for Josh teams’ programme at the District Medical and Health Office on Thursday.
She advised people with symptoms including a cough lasting more than two weeks to seek testing at a government health centre.
The Collector said government TB treatment is free and patients should complete their prescribed course to reduce the risk of drug resistance.
She called for village screening, timely testing and treatment, coordination among departments, and support from local representatives.
