Former Indore Crime Branch Inspector Booked Over ₹1.2 Lakh Bribe
Lokayukta Police in Indore have registered a case against four people.
One of them is a former Crime Branch inspector.
A woman said they asked for ₹1.20 lakh.
She said the money was wanted to help release her son and stop police action against him.
She alleged that part of the money was paid on March 20, 2026.
The rest was allegedly paid in cash the next day.
Police checked technical evidence linked to the complaint.
After finding the complaint credible, they registered a case on August 24, 2026.
The investigation is continuing.
Lokayukta Police booked four people, including former Crime Branch inspector Sujit Srivastava, over an alleged ₹1.20 lakh bribe demand.
The complaint alleged the money was sought to release Pranjal Hazari and prevent police action against him.
According to the complaint, ₹50,800 was paid on March 20, 2026, and ₹70,000 in cash was allegedly paid the next day.
The other accused were private driver Abhay Singh, former Crime Branch constable Vikas Sendhav and private person Deepak Patel.
A case was registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Amendment Act 2018 and Section 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023.
