Hyderabad Gurudwara Marks Centenary With Runs And Walkathon

A Sikh place of worship in Hyderabad is turning 100 years old.

It is called Central Gurudwara Sahib Gowliguda.

The gurudwara was built in 1926.

Organisers are celebrating with running events and a family walk.

About 5,000 people may take part.

The route will begin near IMAX and go along Necklace Road.

The gurudwara once helped Sikhs who moved after the 1947 Partition.

It also gave shelter to people during the 1970 floods.

Organisers say it has become an important home and service centre for the Sikh community.
