Andhra Pradesh High Court Seeks Steps on Doctors’ Stir

Junior doctors in Andhra Pradesh are protesting because they want a higher stipend.

A social activist asked the High Court to make sure patients still receive emergency care.

The activist said some emergency patients were waiting as long as four hours.

The court asked the state government how it was handling the situation.

The court also sent a notice to the junior doctors’ association.

The government said it was talking with the doctors.

It also said meeting their demand would cost ₹89 crore every year.

The court will hear the case again on Tuesday.
