Transport Employees Union Plans Hunger Strike Over Demands
Imagine a group of bus and transport workers who are not happy with their jobs.
They want the government to do certain things, like give them a raise and follow some rules.
They've asked nicely, but nothing has happened.
So, they're planning a 'hunger strike' where they won't eat to get the government's attention.
If the government doesn't listen by the end of May, they plan to give free bus tickets to men as a way to protest.
They also want the rules about fining people for not having tickets to be fair because they believe the current system is unfair and has caused some workers to lose their jobs.
The KSRTC and BMTC United Employees Union will hold a hunger strike on June 10th.
The strike aims to address the transport employees' demands and implement government directives.
The state government has not yet implemented the wage revision agreement.
The Union has stated that if the government does not act by May 31, they will distribute free tickets to male passengers under the Shakti Yojana.
The Union demands that the government's directives on penalties for ticketless travel be followed.
