TMC Leader Questions CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s Voter-Registration History
Saket Gokhale questioned whether Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar appeared in older voter lists.
He said Kumar was born in Uttar Pradesh, worked in Kerala, and had postings in Delhi.
Gokhale searched voter records from those three places for the 2002-03 review.
He said he could not find Kumar’s name in any of them.
Kumar is listed on the current Delhi voter roll, according to Gokhale.
Gokhale said this difference may normally lead to a notice asking for an explanation.
He asked the Election Commission to clarify Kumar’s voter-registration history.
The Election Commission had not immediately responded.
TMC leader Saket Gokhale claimed CEC Gyanesh Kumar was absent from previous SIR rolls in Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Delhi.
Gokhale said Kumar is listed on Delhi’s current electoral roll as Gyanesh Kumar, son of Subodh Kumar.
He asked the Election Commission to clarify where Kumar was registered during the 2002-03 Special Intensive Revision.
Gokhale argued Kumar’s absence from earlier rolls should have triggered a “logical discrepancy” notice.
The Election Commission and Gyanesh Kumar had not immediately responded, amid ongoing notices to Delhi voters over SIR discrepancies.
