India Tests 120 km Pinaka Rocket
India tested a new long-range rocket called Pinaka on Monday.
It flew 120 km and hit its target very accurately.
The test happened in Odisha.
Many scientists and labs worked together to make this rocket.
The defence minister congratulated everyone for this success.
This rocket can be launched from the same launcher as other Pinaka rockets, making it very useful.
All the instruments tracked the rocket's flight to make sure it worked perfectly.
The test happened on the same day the project was approved for the Indian Army.
The maiden flight test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (LRGR 120) was conducted successfully at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha.
The rocket demonstrated its maximum range of 120 km and impacted the target with 'textbook precision'.
The LRGR was launched from the in-service Pinaka launcher, showcasing its versatility and launch capability for different range variants.
The rocket was designed by the Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) with support from other DRDO labs.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the DRDO on the achievement, terming it a 'game changer' for the armed forces.
