BCI Moot Court Competition Debuts in Northeast India
The Bar Council of India (BCI) Moot Court Competition is happening in Northeast India for the first time.
It will be held at Assam Royal Global University (RGU) in Guwahati from January 29 to 31, 2026.
This event is a big deal for law students because it lets them practice arguing imaginary cases in a mock court.
Students from all over India will participate, and important judges and lawyers will watch and judge their performances.
The competition helps students get better at legal research, speaking in court, and following court rules.
Famous judges, like Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, will be there to open and close the event.
This is a great chance for young lawyers to learn and show their skills.
The 38th BCI National All India Inter-University Moot Court Competition 2026 will be held in Guwahati, Assam, from January 29-31, 2026.
This is the first time the event is being hosted in Northeast India, organized by the Bar Council of India and RGU.
The competition provides a platform for law students to develop skills in legal research, drafting, oral advocacy, and courtroom etiquette.
65 teams from various parts of India have registered to participate in the competition.
The event will be inaugurated by Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and concluded by Justice Ujjal Bhuyan of the Supreme Court.
