Couple Found Dead in Salt Lake Home, Police Suspect Suicide

A 66‑year‑old man and his 61‑year‑old wife were found dead in their home in Salt Lake, a neighborhood in Kolkata.

Police found a bottle of pesticide and saw the house was locked from the inside, so they think the couple may have taken their own lives.

No note was left, and the bodies are being examined to confirm the cause of death.

The couple’s son said they were under financial stress and that the father had depression.

Police say there is no sign of a crime, so the deaths are likely a suicide.
