Power Cut Leaves 25 Odisha Schools Struggling With Basic Services
At least 25 government schools in Odisha’s Puri district have reportedly lost electricity.
The power utility is said to have disconnected the schools because bills were not paid.
Without electricity, water pumps cannot work properly.
This makes it harder for students and teachers to get drinking water and use sanitation facilities.
Fans also cannot run, making classrooms very hot.
Some students are reportedly sitting under trees for lessons.
Schools are also having trouble preparing mid-day meals.
Education officials said they are working with the electricity department to restore power soon.
