India Likely to Miss ASEAN Cup Over Historic Brazil Friendly

India Likely to Miss ASEAN Cup Over Historic Brazil Friendly

India's national football team is called the Blue Tigers.

They were invited to play in a big Asian tournament called the FIFA ASEAN Cup.

They were also invited to play a special friendly match against Brazil, one of the best football teams in the world.

The Brazil match will be played in Kolkata on October 3.

Both events are scheduled at the same time, so the football federation, called the AIFF, has to choose.

FIFA's rules say India cannot send a younger or backup team to the ASEAN Cup while the senior team plays Brazil.

A famous former captain named Bhaichung Bhutia thinks India should play in the ASEAN Cup instead.

He says those matches help the team learn and grow more than one friendly game.

The AIFF thinks playing Brazil is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for Indian players.

Bhutia is also worried because the AIFF already has money problems and may have to pay Brazil in advance.
