Air India Reports ₹10,859 Crore Loss in FY25
Air India, an airline owned by the Tata Group, lost a lot of money in the last year.
The total loss was a little over 10,000 crore rupees, even though they made nearly 80,000 crore rupees in revenue.
This is the first time the company is reporting after combining different airlines together.
While the main airline reduced its losses and made more money, a smaller airline within the group lost even more money, partly because they bought more planes and due to changes in currency exchange rates.
However, the airline source indicates the results are expected to improve.
Air India reported a consolidated net loss of ₹10,859 crore in FY25.
The airline's revenue for the same period was ₹78,636 crore.
The results are the first after consolidating four Tata group airlines into two.
Air India's standalone losses decreased by 21% and revenue grew by 13.5% in FY25.
Air India Express's losses widened due to fleet expansion and forex impacts.
