Vijayawada civic chief inspects drainage and water-quality works
Vijayawada has been receiving continuous rain.
The city commissioner visited several places to check whether rainwater could flow away properly.
Workers were removing mud and silt from large drains.
Officials were told to clear open drains and drain water from low-lying areas.
The commissioner also asked them to finish a drain in Gayatri Nagar quickly.
He ordered potholes near SRR-CVR College to be repaired.
Later, he checked an RO water plant.
He wanted to make sure the plant tested its water, kept records, and supplied clean drinking water.
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra inspected outfall drains and desilting works after continuous rains.
He visited low-lying areas and directed officials to clear open drains and remove accumulated rainwater.
Officials were told to accelerate outfall drain construction in Gayatri Nagar and fill potholes near SRR-CVR College.
Dhyanachandra reviewed sanitation, roads and development works at several locations across the city.
He later inspected an RO water plant for testing, licensing, purification and hygiene compliance.
