Karnataka KPSC Chairman Suspended Amid Two Recruitment Scandals

The Karnataka Public Service Commission hires people for government jobs.

Its chairman, Shivashankarappa S Sahukar, was suspended after two serious allegations emerged.

In one case, investigators say his daughter may have used an incorrect income certificate when applying for a government post.

The certificate reportedly showed a much smaller family income than her father’s salary.

In another case, investigators say some candidates may have received a veterinary examination paper before the test.

Twenty-nine selected candidates, including an alleged relative of the chairman, are linked to that case.

The state Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the allegations.

The Karnataka High Court is considering requests for a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry.

The allegations have not been finally decided by the court.
