Rajasthan Seeks Fodder From Three States Amid Drought Concerns
Rajasthan is worried that its animals may not have enough food because rainfall has been low.
The state has asked Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh to send fodder, including paddy straw.
Officials will visit those states to check how much fodder is available and how it could be transported.
Rajasthan says crop residue should be used for animal feed instead of being burned or sent to some industries.
The department has marked nine districts as critical and 22 as semi-critical for fodder supplies.
Officials are also checking food and clean drinking water at cow shelters.
The government says it will respond when shortages are reported.
