IISR Licenses Mango Ginger Variety 'IISR Amrit' to Gujarat Cooperative
Imagine a special kind of ginger that tastes like mango!
Scientists at IISR created this ginger called IISR Amrit.
They gave a group of women farmers in Gujarat permission to grow it.
This new ginger is better than the old kind because it tastes good, smells nice, and has lots of healthy stuff inside.
Farmers can earn more money by growing this, and it will help the community have better food.
The project is supported by Tata Trusts, who help farmers plant and grow this new ginger.
Everyone hopes this new ginger will make the food in Gujarat even more delicious and benefit the farmers.
IISR licensed the IISR Amrit mango ginger variety to a cooperative in Gujarat.
The license was granted to Limkheda Taluka Mahila Bagayat Sahkari Mandali Ltd.
The licensing was supported by the Tata Trusts.
IISR Amrit has an enhanced flavor profile and higher yields compared to local varieties.
