Delhi Launches Decentralized STPs to Clean Yamuna
The Delhi government is building new sewage treatment plants called DSTPs to help clean the Yamuna River.
These plants are smaller and located in different parts of the city.
The plan will create DSTPs, as the current sewage treatment capacity is insufficient.
This project aims to treat more dirty water, helping improve the river's cleanliness.
The DJB is working on these projects, which will benefit many people living in areas like Najafgarh and Tikri Kalan.
The new DSTPs will increase the amount of sewage treated each day.
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is constructing 10 decentralized sewage treatment plants (DSTPs) to clean the Yamuna River.
DSTPs will increase the sewage treatment capacity by approximately 30 million gallons per day (MGD).
The projects are targeted for areas including Najafgarh and Tikri Kalan.
The DSTPs are designed to serve around 35 lakh residents in outer Delhi areas.
The Delhi government aims to bridge a 400 MGD gap in sewage treatment.
