Angamali-Sabarimala Railway Project Delayed by Land Acquisition
The Angamali-Sabarimala train line project is on hold because the government of Kerala hasn't started buying the land needed.
The Railway Minister explained that the project was started a long time ago, and some work has already begun.
But the project can only continue when the state helps with getting the land and paying for the project.
Construction on the Angamali-Sabarimala railway line is awaiting land acquisition by Kerala.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the Rajya Sabha of the project's status.
The project was sanctioned in 1997-98.
Work is ongoing on the Angamali-Kalady section and a portion of the Kalady-Perumbavoor section.
Further progress is stalled due to land acquisition issues and state government support.
