Bastar Regiment Proposal Under Examination by Indian Army

The Chhattisgarh government has proposed creating a new regiment in the Indian Army called the Bastar Regiment.

This regiment would be made up of tribal youths from the Bastar region, who have shown bravery and resilience in fighting Maoists.

The proposal is currently being examined by the Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh.

The idea is to use the experience of these tribal youths in difficult terrains and to provide them with employment and a sense of pride.
