Qatar PM Seeks Tehran Mediation as Trump Delays Iran Talks

Qatar’s prime minister plans to visit Tehran to try to restart discussions between Iran and the United States.

The White House says that no official US-Iran talks are currently planned.

President Trump says he is not rushing into negotiations.

He says economic pressure and military action can both affect Iran.

The United States is also increasing sanctions against Iran.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said Iran and Oman had agreed on how to manage the Strait of Hormuz.

However, an Iranian official said that agreement was not finished and that discussions were continuing.

Trump also said he believes Iran’s supreme leader is alive but badly injured.

The reports describe diplomacy, economic pressure and uncertainty about Iran’s leadership as the main developments.
