Modi Says India’s Urban-Rural Gap Narrowed Over 12 Years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said cities and villages in India have become more similar over the past 12 years.

He said villages now have better infrastructure.

He also said women have become more self-reliant since his government took office in 2014.

Modi spoke with people taking part in a motorcycle rally called Seva Yatra.

The rally connects Varanasi and Vadnagar, two important places in his life.

Two groups began riding on September 17.

They are expected to finish on October 7.

The rallies are meant to celebrate 25 years of Modi’s public service.

They also promote service, community involvement, youth participation and social welfare.
